Well we all do it. So i shouldnt stress about it.

BTW the one thing you might want to look into if you want to be really accurate is your ammo pouches as i think you have a post war set there. Wartime ones had a press stud fastener rather than tabs and loops.

Luckily the pouches cost bugger all (about £3 each from sabre!)

BTW Nicoli we have a WWII bit dedicated group (poor bloody infantry/PBI), if you fancy joining we can lend out guns and any kit your missing while you gradually collect it all. Having said that you've a fine impression as is!

I wonder how many of us have a 49 pattern jacket and tab and loop pouches lurking in the back of a cupboard, I know I have

shame, a very nice arnhem/oosterbeek game coming up soon.( plus a denyson can get you airblanding, commando, SAS all with just the change of a cap badge. )

Our third impression is hallamshire battalion line infantry, we'll be running a game based around that unit early 2010.

Me too. Though the tab fastener ones were in a junk bin and cost 50p each. Bought as spares for a newbie to borrow if needed.

Thanks very much! It does pose the question though... did the 82nd Airborne use the Thompson in the M1928 format as shown above or should I leave it for the Brit kit until I get my No4 from Warren? Is it fair game?

It's a very good question and one I'm not sure at all about! I guess you need to check photos. You'll probably find that there's mainly m1a1s... but who knows?

I've actually turned my m1928 back to an m1a1 for st lo to be safe.

Though I'll be using my garand instead anyway as that was by far the most common weapon.

Luckily, I didn't set these ones off while wearing them. Not this time. Although about 2 hours after this was taken I nearly took my face off with one of Jimbo's marine smokes... :slap:
